dan_bio_widget_photo-276x300.jpgWelcome to The Detroit Tigers Podcast. This is Episode #126, a 49-minute podcast about the Detroit Tigers recorded live from Scottsdale, Ariz., and Castle Rock, Colo.

In this episode we talk to author Dan Clemens, whose new book, “A Perfect Season: A Coach’s Journey to Learning, Competing and Having Fun in Youth Baseball” was published in November by Quiet Path Books.

Dan’s coaching philosophy is that all youth sports should embody three things:

  • Kids should learn about the game, teamwork, and themselves;
  • Kids should be competitive (play at the appropriate level both as individuals and a team); and
  • Kids should, above all, have fun.
